Nationwide Training

Training and Testing Services (TTS) is a rapidly growing training and testing company, specialising in the provision of excellent health and safety training for clients situated throughout mainland UK.

We always strive to produce the best service for our clients, big or small, and this has led us to develop a fantastic reputation since we began in 2008.

We regularly offer open courses at our facilities in Knaresborough (North Yorkshire) and Sutton (South London). In 2016 we launched our RPE equipment sales and online training courses, enabling us to provide a full and complete service.

Many of our clients have been recommended by our customers or are customer-recommended. This demonstrates the quality of the services and products that we deliver as well as the expertise of our staff. Our team takes pride in providing all of our clients with a complete service, not just a training course.

Accreditation’s & Memberships

TTS are proud to be one of the few training companies in the UK to be accredited by the British Abrasives Federation (BAF). This enables us to provide operator training courses in the safe use of abrasive products.

This accreditation ensures that the information that we provide is accurate and up to date, and the content and delivery of our course  is BAF verified to prove this.

We have rapidly established ourselves as a leading provider of abrasive wheel training in the UK, and our goal is to continually improve on this service to provide the best experience for our customers.

We are also proud members of the Independent Asbestos Training Providers (IATP). The IATP works as a Partner Organisation with the HSE, seeking to bring together those requiring quality asbestos training with those who provide it.

All Training Providers listed with IATP have demonstrated compliance with asbestos training regulations, so you know you’ll get the best possible service.

Our asbestos training has been independently audited to prove full compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

Fit2Fit RPE Fit Test Providers Accreditation Scheme

The Fit2Fit RPE Fit Test Providers Accreditation Scheme is designed to confirm the competency of any person performing face fit testing.

Up until now, fit testers of respiratory equipment have not been accredited, making the selection of a competent person a matter of luck and guess work. Testers might have lacked the knowledge, skills and experience required to properly carry out a face fit test, endangering the lives of the wearers as ill-fitting masks don’t provide the same level of protection. This potentially increased the chances of these mask wearers developing respiratory health problems later on in life.

To tackle this issue, the BSIF has developed a competency scheme in collaboration with the HSE and other industry stakeholders known as the Fit2Fit Fit Test Providers Accreditation Scheme. By substantially increasing the correct fitting of RPE, the aim is to significantly reduce the incidence of occupational respiratory injury.

BSIF (British Safety Industry Federation)

The British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) is the lead association for the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Directive and is recognised as a Competent Authority by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). The BSIF has active links with many government departments and over 130 representative Trade Bodies.

Set up in 1994, the Federation currently has some 210 members, ranging from manufacturers and distributors of safety products through to test houses, certification bodies and safety professionals. Membership is accommodated within a number of sector trade associations.

Today the BSIF is firmly established as the major independent voice of the British safety industry, helping to both influence legislation and provide industry in general with a source of authoritative information on a range of workplace safety issues, while representing the needs of its members.

RSS (Registered Safety Suppliers) Scheme

All PPE must be correctly tested and certified to meet the appropriate European standard. Unfortunately, the quantity of non-approved product being sold into the UK is on the increase. Such products should not be used for business because they contravene safety legislation.

A number of items are available that claim CE approvals but in reality they have not been appropriately certified. Even worse, some items are in fact counterfeits of existing products. In our experience these products just do not perform as they should, putting lives at risk and again exposing the user to prosecution.

To help combat this, the BSIF has created the Registered Safety Supplier (RSS) scheme. Companies displaying the scheme’s logo have signed a binding declaration that the safety equipment they offer meets the appropriate standards, fully complies with the PPE regulations and is appropriately CE marked.

All Registered Safety Suppliers are independently audited to confirm compliance with the scheme’s requirements.

At TTS we want to provide our clients with training courses which are relevant and informative, as well as offer the best levels of customer service possible. This is why we closely monitor the quality of what we do and value honest feedback from clients and trainees alike.
