05 Nov Accredited Face Fit Training
What is accredited face fit training? What do I need to look for from a training provider. These are just a couple of the questions we are asked. To make it a little easier we thought we would help with the information in this blog.
Fit2Fit Accredited
For those in the know, fit2fit is the gold standard when it comes to face fit testing. However, when someone advertises that they are fit2fit accredited what does it actually mean? In short, it means that they have been independently assessed when conducting a face fit test. It is their face fit testing skill that has been accredited. This means that if you employ this person to conduct face fit testing, you know they have been assessed to be a competent face fit tester. This does not mean that any training course they decide to deliver has been assessed or approved.
The accreditation process is there to ensure that the person conducting a fit test can prove they can do it compliantly, If you are looking for someone to conduct face fit tests on your staff or yourself please visit the fit2fit register and please make sure that they have been accredited for the type of testing that you are looking to arrange. All our testers and trainers have been accredited by fit2fit for their relevant face fit test method – our own trainers are accredited for qualitative and quantitative. When using Training and Testing Services you are safe in the knowledge that all our testers are fit2fit accredited.
What is Fit2Fit Approval
This is different to fit2fit accreditation. When someone advertises that they deliver fit2fit training you need to decipher what this means. Basically if you are looking for someone to train you up to be a face fit tester you need to look for someone who has had their course fit2fit approved… not just be fit2fit accredited. To have your training course approved by fit2fit involves a stringent process. You submit your course content to fit2fit. This course will be independently assessed to ensure it is compliant and covers everything that is required in the current guidance. This in turn ensures that the training you receive is to the relevant standards.
We would always recommend you look for a fit2fit approved provider. We are proud to have achieved this standard in 2020 and continue to have our courses evaluated.
Someone who is fit2fit accredited does not automatically have their course approved. Fit2Fit approval is a totally different process to achieving accreditation.
Summary of accreditation and approval
Essentially if you are looking for a face fit tester then look for someone who is fit2fit accredited.
If you are looking for someone to train you up to conduct face fit testing then look for someone who has had their course fit2fit approved.
Whichever option you look for then the industry standard is fit2fit. If the person you use for testing is not accredited, or the person you employ to train your staff does not deliver a fit2fit approved course then how do they prove their competence and compliance to you?
